Digital Technology
Alternative Provision
Vocational and academic technology tuition, delivered by industry experts, passionate about providing digital opportunities for young people with autistic, social, and emotional well-being and special educational needs.
We provide a “Projects with Purpose” based learning approach to young people with autistic, social, emotional, wellbeing and special educational needs. Through computer science, game design, coding, digital graphics, 3D modelling, web development and digital skills for work, we create engagement in individuals who ordinarily resist participation in traditional learning programmes. Our highly effective, adult led experiences engage learners in practical tasks that reinforce learning concepts, develop self-worth and self-belief through fun.

Our Story
We have a successful track record in providing technology and digital skills learning opportunities to young people with a high range of special educational needs. We have grown to offer a unique tech based programme to local authorities, specialist provisions and virtual schools across Devon and Somerset.
We originally started SGM at Dame Hannah’s Seale Hayne, working in strategic partnership with the charity, In 2019 we moved to our own home in Devon Square, Newton Abbot, offering our learners easy public transport links and creating even greater value to our partner organisations.

Most of our activities are group based, or if individual, able to be shared and discussed with the rest of the room, enabling student interaction with peers. Learners can discover the activities of others and find new interests, while assisting each other when help is asked for. Discussions and group activities are mediated to ensure that there is always a positive outcome with a focus on reasonable tolerance of other opinions and perspectives, encouraging social acceptance.
Core Provision
We are passionate about the technology education and believe all our young people need to be digitally literate to face the opportunities and challenges the near future of employment holds. It is our vision to keep expanding what we offer to fill in the shortfall in traditional education and keep providing recourses to better prepare the young people of today into the bright minds of tomorrow.
